About Akrruthi

We started with the basics and earned our way up.

One family business, three specialist stores, and one idea running through all of them: tell people the truth about stone.

Our mission

To tell every family and architect the truth about stone, and to supply the right stone, in the right quantity, for the room it will live in.

Our vision

To be the people Bengaluru calls before deciding on stone, and the name architects across South India specify, from Kota for a driveway to Statuario for a living room.

Our journey, one stone at a time.

  1. Granite and Indian marble

Vikas Ostwal began with granite and Indian marble in Jigani: the stone that goes into almost every home. He learned the trade from the ground up: which block cuts clean, which lot will give trouble, what a mason needs and what a homeowner fears.

  2. Kota and natural stone

Customers who trusted us for one stone asked for the next. When they wanted Kota and natural stone for floors, terraces and gardens, we opened a store for it, on Bannerghatta Road. That is where Gaurav Ostwal joined.

  3. Imported marble

The same customers, and their architects, asked why they had to go elsewhere for imported marble. So we built that too: Akrruthi Marble, for marble from Italy, Greece, Turkey, Spain and beyond, each sold under its true origin.

  4. Today

Three specialist stores in Bengaluru, each with its own range. We deliver across India and have completed projects all over the country, mainly in South India. We grew one stone at a time, and every step came from a customer asking, can you do this for us as well?

Why honesty, above everything.

So many people came to us after a bad purchase somewhere else. They had paid for one stone and received another, or ordered too little and could not match the lot, or their floor had cracked within a year.

These were not careless people. They had simply trusted the wrong person on a decision they could not check for themselves. In our trade the product is not really the stone. It is the advice. So the customer hears the truth from us, even when the truth means a cheaper stone.

What we stand for

  • Honesty

We say what the stone is and where it is from. Where we have not confirmed an origin, we say so.

  • Patience

We would sooner you take three visits and choose right than one visit and regret it.

  • Craft

Selection, cutting and finishing done properly, because a beautiful slab laid badly is a bad floor.

  • Permanence

We sell something meant to outlast us, so we behave like people who will still be here.

Three things we believe that the trade does not.

  • The most expensive marble is often the wrong choice. The right stone depends on the room, the use and the family, not the price.
  • A good mason matters as much as a good slab. Much of what people call bad marble is bad laying.
  • You should know exactly what you are buying: the stone's real name, where it comes from, and its grade.
