How to tell Italian marble from the rest
Many stones are sold in India under Italian-sounding names. Some are Italian; others come from Turkey, Greece, Spain and elsewhere. The name on an invoice proves nothing.
Akrruthi sells each stone under its real origin. This page lists only stones whose Italian origin we have confirmed. Stones of uncertain origin are on the imported marble page, marked "Origin: confirmed on enquiry".
When you compare quotes, ask each dealer three things: the quarry region, whether you can see the full slabs before paying, and whether the slabs delivered will be the ones you chose. Read how to check marble quality before you pay and how to choose the best quality Italian marble.

Questions about Italian marble
How do I know a marble is really Italian?
Ask for the quarry region and look at the full slab, not a polished sample. Akrruthi names the region for every stone on this page, and shows the actual slabs you will receive. Stones of uncertain origin are listed under imported marble, never here.
Can I use Italian marble in the kitchen?
Not on the counter. Acids in lemon, tamarind and tomato etch polished marble within minutes. Use granite for the counter and keep Italian marble for floors and walls.
What decides the cost of Italian marble?
The stone, its grade, the size and consistency of the lot, thickness, finish and the wastage your layout creates. Akrruthi quotes after you have chosen your slabs. There is a guide to what drives the cost.
Can I see the slabs before I pay?
Yes. Book a private slab viewing at Akrruthi Marble in Jigani. You choose the slabs, we tag them, and those tagged slabs are what we deliver.
